When should a person go to an Emergency Room instead?

Anyone having chest pain, uncontrollable bleeding, or who is unresponsive should go to the emergency room. The Emergency Room at Mercy Medical Center is equipped to handle life-threatening conditions.

Where should I go for physical exams, Pap smears, routine immunizations, well child visits, etc?

These are routine medical care be given by your personal physician. This is the doctor who knows your medical and family history. If you currently do not have a family doctor, a family practice clinic is conveniently located just down the hall. Our family practitioners and internal medicine physicians will gladly take care of you and your family’s ongoing health care needs.

Mercy Quick Care Clinics

Mercy Quick Care Clinics offer high-quality, convenient medical services for patients with common illnesses who need to start feeling better, fast! Quick Care Clinics are staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants who see patients ages 18 months and older on a walk-in basis. In most cases, patients are seen within 20 minutes. Providers are qualified to write prescriptions, if needed, and always provide patients with information and next steps for seeking medical care. Illnesses requiring more advanced and focused treatment are referred on to a primary care physician for evaluation and follow-up.
